Te tracking no for USPS First Class Mail International valid in USA only and when it arrived in Malaysia POS MALAYSIA declared as normal parcel. No Tracking. Just wait and hope it will receive to you. This is cheap shipping cost but quiet risky. You better use Priority Mail with Tracking no start CJ,CC,A, E but not LJ.

If you brought an expensive item from overseas, better ASK to pay more for Priority Mail or use FEDex with custom fee when item arrive to your door step.

100% Tested on me. -Peace of Mind- :-D

OK...I have been receiving all my eBay things through USPS Priority Mail International and USPS First Class Mail International. My address is in Kota Kinabalu Sabah. Thumb Up to USPS and Malaysia Post and Malaysia Customs.. More than 40 items.... Anyway all items were musical instruments and parts. I never tried electrical..or electronics goods.

Dear All,

Within the last three months i have 4 usps first class mail international parcels unaccountable or disappeared, presumable lost or stolen while on transit. Wonder whether the malaysian customs and pos malaysia can help.....tell you the truth forget about them, they are of no help at all. Main Pos office and the customs office are housed in the same building and these places are like home to me already. Parcels cannot be traced, parcels can be stuck in the customs office for weeks (when asked....the answer...."no idea"). Sports goods are not taxable, and neither notice was given by the customs for inspection or collection. Now I have got one usps priority mail international parcel also lost in space. The seller (5 figures 100% power rated seller) very uncorperative and have not furnished tracking or customs form number (already 2 months since payment was done) eventhough i paid usd29.95 for priority mail international. Priority usually arrive between 8 to 20 days. First class parcel can take 14 to 25 days to reach me through KL to Sabah. Fortunately paypal refund the purchased price including shipping cost, but the thrill of bidding & winning through ebay, sometimes even staying up late at night, is lost. I wanted the item, bidded, paid and found that your item won't arrive and have to file a claim through ebay / paypal. Wonder ebay malaysia do really take the effort of investigating lost parcels (might be possible that the parcels were stolen while on transit in malaysia)and bringing these serious issues with malaysian customs and pos malaysia. Previously (3 - 4 months ago) pos malaysia changed the distribution of overseas parcel from one department to another department......coincidently thats when my parcels start disappearing. Prior to that parcels regardless priority or first class always gets delivered to me.

Ebay malaysia...you better put in more effort rather than waste my time and effort, bidding and paying for items that i wanted but don't get to receive it. The first place to check would be the people handling these parcels in malaysia itself. There might be some dishonest sellers from foreign countries, but as explained above its just cannot be coincidental.

I felt that ebay / paypal is doing a genuine business but there's something very wrong with the delivery system in the foreign country for international parcels and particularly in malaysia.

Please inform me when you have any breakthrough after checking with the malaysian authority on parcel delivery system, with high and effective level of security against theft.

thank you

Dear All,

I felt shameful at times especially when i try to bid or buy items from another country through ebay. Many sellers have actually barred malaysian from buying their items, citing malaysia as unsafe for delivery of overseas parcels. When queried these skeptical sellers will tell you thousand and one reasons.

thanks

I'm DISGUSTED with the MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS. Stuff I'm bought from US using USPS always gone missing untraceable :'( .

Once I bought a violin from Beijing using EMS, they held my item at the customs and did not send me any notice to claim it, not until the third week after numerous queries, I went to the Custom Office to claim it. I ask them why they held my violin? They answer me that they though my violin is valuable and wanted to tax me. After I show them the invoice my violin price include shipping is US$93. They are not even reach the limit to be taxable.

To all Buyers,

NEVER send any item into Malaysia without a tracking number especially gifts or branded items.

The problem I can tell you is not that the senders. The problem is with our Postal/Custom point of entry.
I urge you to visit one of these Post Offices yourself, either in KL or Butterworth to see how they work.

These are what you ll see:

1) No responsible personnel or procedure for incoming mails or packages.
2) Items are everywhere.
3) Clerk manually record on a notebook registered mails with tracking numbers. No numbers for normal mail they will tell you!
4) Workers from both offices are able to open and skim through your parcel with no proper record who handled your item.

I lost many items before until I visited their facility. Now I never lose anything anymore. :)

If you are a buyer, ask for a sign-for (registered) shipping from your seller. Things send with First Class mail can get lost and both seller & buyer loses in this case, you might not get buyer protection here if you don't pay by Paypal or seller listing did mentioned shipping by First Class.

For higher value items, insist for Paypal payment and registered shipping, to ensure a high degree of certainty the item will reach you.

Many U.S. sellers do not realized that eBay required them to ship registered if the item is over USD100. If they don't and things got lost you can file a complaint and get back your money. Of course, you should officially lodge a complaint within 30 days of bidding ends.

I feel sad to say that the integrity of malaysian postal / customs is questionable, locally and internationally. Many sellers from overseas, particularly USA & Hong Kong, have refused to ship any items to malaysia citing insecure postal / customs systems. One proprietor of a hardware shop that i know of (he does internet sales to overseas customers) mentioned to me that several items he sent through malaysian postal system has gone missing by the time the parcel reached his overseas customers, imagine a empty box that got delivered. Many items that i bought from USA or Hong Kong got lost / stolen, even on usps priority mail international. The customs / postal authority should screen their employees deligently, and monitor closely their operation to eliminate dishonest / inefficient staff. Put in an effective system to eliminate these culprits / criminals that bring shame & distrust to this country's customs and postal authority.
Suggestion: All parcels should be trackable by using the customs form number.
Can ebay malaysia help to eliminate these chronic criminal and shameful situation by working out several effective system / method with the customs & postal authorities ?

I also got problem with post service in Malaysia. Since April 2010, I have 4 parcels that should arrived here. But until now, only 2 parcel received and another 2 lost in the space. My seller scanned the USPS receipt and email it to me and I'm very sure that there's nothing wrong. I don't think the problem come from our Customs here because even if I use First Class Mail International, if it was detained they still send me a letter to inform me.

I believe the problem came from our postal service which is POS MALAYSIA. They told me if the parcel is not claimed for 30 days, they will return it to the seller. But until now, my seller still not receive it yet. I believe Pos Malaysia staff who was in charge for this is not honest.

I will be travelling to USA soon and intend to purchase lots of branded stuff and thought of sending it back via USPS. I got worried now after seeing so many problems with M'sia customs and POS Malaysia on goods get missing and other stuff. Can anyone tell what's the best way to send things back from USA ?

Thanks.

Hi, I'm new here. Just to tell all my members here do not trust or use USPS First Class mail shipping something to MALAYSIA because I experienced terrible experience where all my 3 items from the US ie from Florida, Virginia and Louisiana all not reach me. And luckily all the 3 sellers send me 2nd time the same items through First Class also but also get lost. So I lost money in these 3 transactions. I try contact Pos KLIA but everytime they just said no any item from US. Anybody can believe 3 items from different states of the USA will not reach me? I not believe and I just think its so many "THIEVES" inside Pos Malaysia which they just rob others people belonging for their own. So frustrated and not trusting Pos Malaysia anymore. If try to buy anything from US, just select USPS Express Priority (although price quite high).

At first, I do not have any problem with USPS posting from US to Malaysia, but now, I been waiting for my 2 parcel which is not cost more than USD20 for each items, different seller about a month. It's ridiculous. 1st seller tends to refund. But another seller is still asked me to be patient. I just wondering, what kind of circumtanses, custom will hold our items? Electrical goods? or the do have an amount that we cannot exceed? Very frustrated ....

I've sold many item (small electronic parts and components) to worldwide customers and shipped using POS MALAYSIA surface mail. I have encountered some mail which doesn't reach the destination at all (2 times so far), and some which the content inside the mail was stolen, leaving an empty broken envelop to my customer (2 times so far). Well, I have to resend, refund and suffer losses!

It sometimes takes over 2 months for my registered parcel to reach Brazil. When contacted POS MALAYSIA, filled in a form for them to start the investigation, I get no replies, no feedback at all. And the tracking system is lousy. With tracking number is like no tracking at all.

POS MALAYSIA must improve and do something about it.....otherwise..

December last year i bought an item from US and it was send thru USPS international priority. Upon checking the tracking number, the item arrived here in malaysia after 3 or 4 days it left USA but somehow got stuck in the receiving point in malaysia. Then after a while, it was updated that attempts had been made about 4 or 5 times to send to my address which is an office.
Funny thing was, pos laju (who happened to be the service provider that took over from USPS once parcel in malaysia) claimed many times in that tracking report that receipient address either: receipient moved out, no such address and so on. What i am puzzled further was, my office signage is a big neon which can be seen miles away and just opposite daya bumi where the Pos Malaysia head office located.. WattaFISHH????
It has been about 2 months after item arrived and they send it back to sender after purportedly or pretended item cannot be delivered..

Recently, i expected another shipment but this time from australia. Once i got the tracking number, i contacted pos malaysia ask for local tracking number as they will update and change. I was a bit pissed that the seller immediately send it thru registered mail and gave no option. The item was an expensive camera. As i feared it may not reach me again, i call KLIA pos malaysia which located near LCCT (same building with customs) call them few times till got whole of a staff. She told me that the item just arrived there and its ready to be send to pos laju centre in KL. I requested no to do so and i told i would personally go there to pick it up myself.

Tho i had to drive all the way to pick it up, seeing the item safe in my hand really gave me a peace of mind.

Just to add. the tracking number will be change to a local number. This was what a pos malaysia staff told me. So call Pos Malaysia customer service and gave them the original tracking number.

I hope that wud help.
